2026 Coach Nomination

The NLYHA will be awarding the seventh annual Outstanding Coach of the Year award at the end of season banquet given in honor of Steve Verville. Anyone within the program – players, parents or coaches – are encouraged to nominate and recognize our talented coaches. We would like to honor coaches for years to come that exemplify the same qualities and virtues that Steve embodied as a coach.

What qualities and virtues make an outstanding coach?

• It is not all about wins and losses, but about attitude.

• Encouraging our teammates, winning with humility and losing with grace.

• Acknowledging where work needs to be done and then doing the work, going above and beyond to develop the kids in this game we all love, but also as good human beings.
