Director of Hockey Operations
Mike Muller

Born and raised in Edina, Minnesota, Mike Muller brings a lifetime of experience, leadership, and passion for the game to the Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association as our Director of Hockey Operations.
A standout high school player at Wayzata, he was a two-time All-State nominee and a 1990 Mr. Hockey Finalist, later selected 35th overall in the second round of the 1990 NHL Draft by the Winnipeg Jets. He played two seasons at the University of Minnesota on a full scholarship before signing professionally with Winnipeg.
In a groundbreaking moment, he became the first American-born player to skate for Dynamo Moscow in Russia, a move that shaped his development and career. After five seasons with the Jets, he and his wife spent 19 years playing and coaching professionally across Europe, where he earned multiple accolades including:
- 2x League MVP
- 5x Best Defenseman
- Coach of the Year honors in his first professional season behind the bench
Today, he lives in Outing, Minnesota, with his wife and their three daughters (ages 23, 20, and 15), and continues to share his expertise and love for the game with the next generation of players in the Northern Lakes community.
