About NLYHA

The Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association works to promote a fun, fair, and safe environment that maximizes participation and improves players' skills while developing sportsmanship, teamwork and self-confidence. These actions will result in a tradition of excellence at the highest level possible, including the high school level as player’s transition from the NLYHA to the next level of play.

At Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association, our primary mission is to develop student-athletes by teaching the fundamental skills and strategies needed to succeed in the game of hockey.

We are committed to fostering a culture of excellence rooted in sportsmanship, discipline, and athletic growth. Our program provides a structured, competitive, and fun environment where each athlete is encouraged to reach their full potential on and off the ice.

Through a focus on accountability, confidence, and character development, we help young players understand that success is earned through commitment, effort, and enthusiasm. These values extend beyond the rink, shaping individuals who lead with integrity.

Our ultimate goal is to equip players with the tools, mindset, and discipline needed to seamlessly transition into the high school hockey program and compete at the highest level of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). With strong support from our athletes, families, and association leadership, that goal becomes a shared reality.
