NLYHA Skill Development Scholarship Program

Established in 2020

At Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association, we believe every athlete should have the opportunity to grow through the game of hockey regardless of financial circumstances.

The NLYHA Scholarship Program provides supplemental funding to help offset the costs of skill development opportunities for our players. These scholarships are intended to support structured programs with a strong focus on skill development, such as camps, spring skills, and fall clinics. (Note: Funds are not intended for AAA hockey or similar programs.)

💡 How It Works

Scholarships are awarded based on need, availability of funds, and completion of a brief application. All information is kept strictly confidential and used solely to determine award recipients.

Scholarship Guidelines

To be eligible, the following requirements must be met:

• 🏒 Applicant must be an active NLYHA player in good standing
• 💳 No outstanding balance from prior NLYHA fees or events
• ✅ Player must be in good standing with NLYHA, Minnesota Hockey, and USA Hockey
• 📅 Must be fully committed to attend the camp or program applied for
• 👨‍👩‍👧 Parents/guardians must be willing to volunteer or support the association in some capacity
• 📝 Applications must be complete, accurate, and submitted by the stated deadline
• 📅 Year-Round Availability

This program is available throughout the year, and scholarship amounts may vary annually based on available funds and individual circumstances. Please note: Submitting an application does not guarantee an award.
