USA Hockey Safe Sport Program

At USA Hockey, the safety of all participants—on and off the ice—is our highest priority.
We are committed to protecting players, coaches, volunteers, and families from abuse, misconduct, and unsafe environments. Our SafeSport Program outlines policies and procedures designed to prevent physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as bullying, harassment, hazing, and other harmful behavior.
USA Hockey maintains a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for abuse and misconduct.
The SafeSport Handbook brings together our key policies, covering:
- Sexual Abuse
- Physical Abuse
- Emotional Abuse
- Bullying, Threats & Harassment
- Hazing
It also outlines rules for high-risk areas such as:
- Locker Rooms

In addition to these policies, the Handbook includes:
- Required training for coaches, officials, players, parents, and volunteers
- Background screening procedures
- Reporting protocols with protections against retaliation
- Guidelines for how allegations are handled
- Oversight and monitoring of the SafeSport Program
Our goal is to foster the safest possible environment for everyone in the hockey community.
