The NLYHA association is looking for coaches for the 2021-2022 hockey season. If you are interested please complete the coaching registration. If you have any questions you can contact Matt Balmer.
All other volunteer positions (e.g. team manager, locker room monitor, bus driver, NLYHA Board Member, Hockey Committee) need to complete the volunteer/manager registration.
ALL MUST BE COMPLETED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND PRIOR TO TAKING THE ICE.
Please follow the links below for each step. You can also reference the MN Hockey instructions at the link below.
Step 1: Register as a coach with USA Hockey, take note of your registration number and use it to follow the next steps.
Step 2: Attend CEP hockey clinic in Minnesota. Clinics will be posted in September. You will need your USA Hockey Confirmation # before you can register for a clinic. Needs to be completed by December 31 of each year.
Step 3: Complete age specific on-line modules. Must be completed before stepping on the ice.
Step 4: Complete USA Hockey Safe Sport module. (every year) Safe Sport must be completed before stepping on the ice. There are new rules as of June, 2019.
Step 5: Complete a background check. There are new rules in place as of April 1, 2020. Needs to be completed before stepping on the ice.
Step 6: Register with NLYHA. Needs to be completed before stepping on the ice.
Step 7: Complete concussion training and supply certificate of training along with MN Hockey Coach Concussion Certification form to NLYHA Registrar. Needs to be completed before stepping on the ice.
Is the number to call USA Hockey. They can answer any of your coaching questions or where you stand as far as certification/levels/card expiration!
Any volunteer that comes in contact with the players will need to register. This includes Board members and any non-ice volunteers.
